Java Lead Data Engineer - SC Cleared - 6 Months

When it comes to working on mission critical projects, the central government have an abundance of opportunities for skilled individuals to make their mark on humanity. The most recent being a Lead Data Engineer position based in London, for technical individuals who specialise in Java. Please note Active SC Clearance is required.

What the role will consist of:

• Building scalable data pipelines with AWS Glue, PySpark, and Java-based microservices.
• Leveraging AWS services like S3, Glue, and Athena for cloud-native solutions.
• Writing complex SQL queries for efficient data retrieval.
• Leading and mentoring a team of data engineers.
• Engaging with client stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Ideal candidate:

• 6+ years of data engineering experience.
• Strong skills in Java microservices, AWS Glue, and PySpark.
• Advanced SQL expertise.
• Leadership experience and excellent communication skills.
• Preferred: AWS certifications, familiarity with big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
