Applications are invited for the post of Legal Counsel in the Governance and Legal Department.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified solicitor with substantial post qualification experience (PQE) to provide support to General Counsel and assist in providing advice on regulatory compliance issues. Legal Counsel will provide support of an effective and comprehensive in-house legal service and provide mainly contractual work whilst being required to assist with the full range of matters upon which advice is sought from legal services. The Legal and Governance team is made up of six colleagues who cover data protection, Freedom of Information (FoI), UKVI, compliance and legal matters.

To make a success in this role, the postholder will be a qualified solicitor with substantial post qualification experience in Contract Law. The successful candidate will be a credible communicator with sound working expertise in Microsoft Office Package. In addition, knowledge of Procurement Law will be a distinctive advantage and is desirable. This ideal applicant should be a team player with demonstrable expertise to lead and develop colleagues with sound research skills.
