POSTING END DATE: 3rd March 2025

START DATE: 8th September 2025

PROGRAMME DURATION: 4 years.

LOCATION: Gaydon, Whitley, Lyons Park, Castle Bromwich, Battery Assembly Centre - Hams Hall or Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC) - Wolverhampton.

Hybrid working is potentially available, depending on the area and manager. JLR is a multi-site business and you'll be required to spend time working with different departments at several locations.

ACHIEVE THE EXCEPTIONAL

You've picked the perfect time to take the first step on an extraordinary career path with JLR's apprenticeship programme and be at the forefront of tomorrow's technology. Experience first-hand how innovation shapes the future of mobility. Arrive as you are. Achieve the exceptional.

Applied Professional Engineering Programme Degree Apprenticeship

Our Level 6 Applied Professional Engineering Programme Degree Apprenticeship is aimed at those with a passion for learning and innovation.

We're reimagining the future of automotive, refining the quality of our combustion engines and expanding into electrification. As an Applied Professional Engineering Degree Apprentice, you will become a multi-disciplinary engineer, developing digital technology solutions for modern luxury vehicles that are renowned for their desirability and performance.

As an apprentice, you will develop the Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs) outlined in the apprenticeship standard. These will be assessed during your End Point Assessment (EPA), where you will demonstrate the competencies and skills you've gained throughout the programme.

Manufacturing pathway

Manufacturing is at the very heart of JLR, with thousands of vehicles being produced every day across our production facilities. With a blend of hands-on experience and qualifications you will work on projects that are fundamental to our global success, providing the opportunity to influence the future of manufacturing.

WHAT TO EXPECT

During your apprenticeship, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience and career-building skills while working at the forefront of the automotive industry. This exciting programme is designed to help you build practical skills, deepen your foundational knowledge, and develop essential business behaviours such as teamwork and problem-solving. You'll be supported by a JLR early careers cohort leader, the university team, and your line manager every step of the way.

This programme is delivered through a combination of online study, face-to-face lectures, and independent learning each week. This gives you the chance to apply your learning from the University of Warwick to projects in a real-world environment. You'll study a range of modules designed to build your essential knowledge, skills and behaviours, with regular process reviews along the way to ensure you're getting the support you need from your tutors and line manager.

Years 3-4

In years 3 and 4 you will complete modules related to your chosen specialism - Product Design and Development. In your final year, you'll complete a work-based project as part of your End Point Assessment (EPA). This is an opportunity for you to use the skills and experience you gained throughout your time on the programme and apply them directly to your role. When you've successfully completed your EPA, you'll achieve your Level 6 Apprenticeship and take on new responsibilities, making a meaningful impact within the business.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you could be based within any of the following areas: Global Manufacturing Engineering (GME) or Procurement - Supplier Technical Assistance (STA). You will be asked to indicate your preference during the application process.

WHAT'S REQUIRED?

You'll need to have achieved GCSE Maths and English Language at level 5 or higher plus three additional GCSEs at level 5 (C) or higher, to include one STEM subject.

In addition, you will need to have achieved or be on track to achieve A-level Maths at grade B or higher and an additional A-level in Physics, Chemistry, Design & Technology or Engineering at grade C or higher.

If you do not hold or are not studying for the qualifications above but believe that you have equivalent awards or skills, please contact us at for a discussion before submitting your application.

REWARDS AND BENEFITS

Our 2025 apprenticeship programme salary is £26,092. You'll also enjoy a generous holiday allowance, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, an excellent pension scheme and access to a wide range of deals and discounts from retailers and sports clubs.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

At JLR, we're passionate about our people. They are at the heart of our business. We're committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive culture that is representative of the society in which we live; a culture in which every one of our employees can bring their authentic self to work and reach their full potential.

ARRIVE AS YOU ARE. ACHIEVE THE EXCEPTIONAL.

You will channel your curiosity and creativity every day, sharpening your skills for a successful, transformative career. You own your development, and only you can make it happen. We'll be there right by your side in your pursuit of exceptional, and we'll provide all the encouragement and support you need for a long, fulfilling career. Your potential for impact starts here.

Please be aware that we may close our programmes at any point and at short notice based on the volume of applications received. To give yourself the best chance of being considered for a place on this programme, please apply early.
