Job Description

Applications are invited for a Consultant Otolaryngologist position based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and University of Aberdeen Medical Institutions. The successful applicant will join an established team of seven consultants and will be expected to participate in the full range of the services offered by the department which covers adult and paediatric services to the Grampian, Orkney and Shetland regions, a population in excess of 500,000.

A sub-specialty interest in Head and Neck surgery is preferred. This will consist of a combination of benign and malignant head and neck conditions. The Head and Neck service is delivered through a MDT setting with the full support of the range of specialties including Maxillofacial surgery, Oncology, Radiology, Pathology, Speech and Language Therapy, Restorative Dentistry, Specialist Cancer Nursing and Dietetics. NHS Grampian is home to three Da Vinci surgical robots and approval has been given for the development of a robotic Head and Neck service. The successful postholder will be supported to play a central role in the development of this service.
