Position: MAGNA Product & Technical Sales Manager
Location: NI based
Reporting to: MAGNA Business Line Director
Terex has a prominent position globally in providing compact and mid-sized materials processing equipment. MAGNA, recently launched in 2024 will serve customers requiring more: higher capacity machines tailored to meet the needs of customers requiring larger output and volumes.
As the MAGNA Product & Technical Sales Manager, you will serve as a vital link between our dealers, customers, and internal teams to define the future of our products and support to our distribution, sales and aftersales channel partners.
About the Role
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to influence the direction of MAGNA's product portfolio in the unique Large Scale materials processing industry. You will have the responsibility of identifying emerging customer needs, collaborating with stakeholders to design new products, and championing key improvements to our existing models. By doing so, you will ensure our solutions not only meet but exceed expectations, delivering robust, reliable, and high-performance equipment that drives long-term value for our customers.
Your role will directly contribute to growing MAGNA's position as a global leader in the industry, combining your skills with our world-class resources to deliver the next generation of crushing and screening solutions in this segment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identification and prioritisation of new products via the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
- Integrate the various Product Management activities involved in the introduction of new products within the NPPD process working closely with the NPPD Coordinator.
- Gather information on local market regulations and material/product specifications ensuring product compliance.
- Build strong client relationships with both end user customers and dealers this will include regular visits to Dealers and customers to obtain direct feedback.
- Research and create specifications for new products - Conducting research surveys via dealers and customers.
- Assess the return, profitability, and potential for new products, options, and improvements. This will include volume projections, contribution assessments, costing forecasts and will involve engagement with Sales, Engineering, Operations and Finance teams.
- Visit customers and recommend accurate technical solutions & machine performance specifications to propose the most efficient solution to satisfy customer requirements with software aid such as Aggflow and Visual layouts.
- Prepare and deliver commercial and technical training materials & sales tools to dealers and end-customers including comparisons to major competitors.
- Work closely with 3rd party supplier(s) with regards products and services to incorporate in the MAGNA portfolio.
- Provide feedback on existing products and services, as well as changes, enhancements and new products and convey information to engineering and marketing team members for research and New Product Development (NPD).
- Attend trade shows, dealer conferences, and exhibitions and play an active part in marketing activities as appropriate.
Education & Experience Required
- A proven track record of successfully managing and launching products, preferably in a similar industry or domain.
- Significant experience within the mobile crushing or screening industry
- Experience with the product design process
- Experience of working in a customer facing environment
- Prior experience working in ecommerce or social media.
- Degree educated or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate a product vision and training delivery to cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customers.
- Strong strategic thinking skills and ability to develop a clear product vision and roadmap aligned with the company's goals.
- A good understanding of the crushing and screening industry, the various applications that the equipment can operate in, along with an appreciation for the expected performance of the machines.
- Ability to prioritize product features and make strategic decisions to drive business growth.
- Ability to work with others on a cross functional basis to meet deadlines.
- Ability to select from multiple design alternatives when a clear best choice is not evident.
- Ability to investigate root cause of machinery non-performance.
- Can identify risks both technical and commercial with proposed product change or new product.
- Ability to conduct market research, interview customers, analyse competitors, and identify opportunities for product innovation.
- Adaptable and agile in their approach to handle change, ambiguity, and quickly adjust strategies based on market feedback.
- Ability to travel internationally. Estimated International travel 30%
