Job Description

Morrison EnergyServices is recruiting fora Managing QuantitySurveyor to work on Various Energy projects inthe UK, initially based in York.

Asthe Managing QuantitySurveyor you will be part of our Commercial whoare responsible for managing all commercial aspects of a project interms of liaising with the client, internal and external reportingand managing third party interactions.

Asthe Managing QuantitySurveyor your responsibilities willinclude:

  • Compile relevant information for preparation of reportsand claims to agreed timescales.
    Assist with the ongoingimplementation of the commercial application in respect of sitepersonnel at all time whilst developing lasting relationships withBusiness Unit and Project Managers.
  • Constantly referto the project risk management plan for thorough, accurate,high-level risk assessment. Monitor the register and any relateddocumentation in accordance with the plan.
  • Ultimateresponsibility for all sub-contractormanagement.
  • Ensure all sub-contractors andsuppliers have submitted compliantquotations/enquiries/applications within the timescale required,and produce all documentation to select and secure services as wellas monthly assessments, variations/CE claims and final accountagreements through coaching of the QuantitySurveyor
  • Actively increase knowledge ofcommercial issues and contract law with a view to managing andagreeing compensationevents/variations/claims.
  • Actively suggestand develop processes for increased accuracy and efficiencyminimising time journal and reconciliation tasks.
  • Liaison with the Commercial Managerand Quantity Surveyor(s) to ensure appropriate commercial cover ismaintained.
  • Assist the team and Project Manager,Engineers and Planners with regard to recovery of contract coststogether with enhancing project profit by identifying variations,delays and claims.
  • Assist with production of monthlyproject financial and forecast to complete reports for analysiswith Finance staff and Commercial Staff.
  • Develop sound andbalanced negotiating skills.
  • Attend whenrequested handover and progress meetings.
  • Help produce asite commercial manual and documents to recordvariations.
  • Undertake monthly reporting for bothclient and internal ensuring comprehensive variance analysis andpositive cash collection
  • In accordance with our certificationto the standards OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 each employeewill comply with and contribute to the effective implementation ofthe current MES TN: -Health and Safety Policy, Quality Policy,Environmental Policy within established Company policies andprocedures
  • To undertake any other duties as andwhen necessary to meet the varying demands of the business andsatisfy customer needs.

  • Previous experience in a QuantitySurveying
  • Contract experience, capturing siterecords for variations and valuations; supporting a projectteam
  • Sub Contract Management
  • Cost / valuereconciliation
  • Qualification in QuantitySurveying
  • Knowledge of theindustry
