Marketing Lead - PR, Events and Public Affairs

Aquent is seeking an experienced and professional Marketing Lead to join one of the largest telecommunications companies in the UK. They are at a crucial part in their growth plans and are aiming to expand their marketing capabilities and strengthen their position as an industry leader.
The aim of the role is to spearhead their Marketing initiatives within the Public sector, playing a vital role in shaping their public affairs strategy, engagement, campaigns, and communications efforts with government entities and industry bodies.
You will be managing a combination of events, public affairs strategy and initiatives, brand awareness considerations, content writing, communications strategy, and campaign management.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Achieve defined OKRs related to public sector engagement, media coverage, and campaign effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with government officials, industry leaders, and media contacts.
- Deliver effective public affairs strategies that align with the company's growth objectives and regulatory environment.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the CMO, General Counsel, and Director of Property.
- Create and execute game-changing Marketing campaigns to increase our share of voice and brand consideration and engagement for both policy influencing, meetings, and lead generation/consultation opportunities.
- Plan and execute public sector events and parliamentary events, conferences, and roundtables to strengthen presence and thought leadership in the industry.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in public sector marketing, public relations, or public affairs.
- Experience in the telecommunications or infrastructure industry is highly desirable.
- Experienced within a B2B corporate setting.
- Strong understanding of marketing principles and the ability to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns.
- Proven track record of engaging with government entities, local authorities, and industry bodies.
- Familiarity with telecom regulations, policies, and industry trends.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive and impactful messages.
- Strong copywriting skills for creating thought leadership content, press releases, and policy submissions.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, media personnel, and industry leaders.
- Experience in lobbying and advocacy efforts to influence policy decisions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
