Location: NHS Western Isles Health Board Offices, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, HS1 2BB
Position: Medical DirectorConsultant Salary: £107,144 - £142,369 per annum
Plus Management fee: £30,538 per annum
Plus Distant Islands Allowance: £1,349 per annum
Full time: 40 hours per week
Type: Permanent position with Executive on-call requirement
Secondment Opportunity: The position would also be considered for a Secondment opportunity for 12 months.
Relocation Package: A generous relocation package is available.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader, who is motivated to improve the health and wellbeing of the Western Isles community, and to deliver high-quality, safe and sustainable clinical services in a remote and island community setting. As an organisation, we are strongly committed to nurturing the wellbeing of our staff and creating a positive work environment, and there would be a strong support network for anyone taking on this role.
You will be one of the Board's principal advisors, providing specialist advice on aspects of strategic development and management of safe, effective, efficient and sustainable clinical services. You will have joint responsibility for Clinical Governance, Risk and Quality Standards (shared with the Nurse and AHP Director/COO) and represent NHS Western Isles at a Regional and National level. You will lead the Medical Team from a professional and operational perspective, including job planning, appraisal and recruitment.

Minimum Requirements: You must be a GMC registered Specialist or General Practitioner with significant leadership and senior management experience.
