Job Description

NHS North West London ICB have identified an exciting secondment opportunity for a full time MHLDA Contract & Invoice Officer post within the Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism (MHLDA) Placements Business Team.

The MHLDA Placements Business Team is responsible for overseeing the contracts, data quality, processing of invoices and reporting for all the individual MHLDA placements that are funded across NHS NWL ICB.

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and flexible individual who has good communication and organisational skills to work as part of a dynamic team.

Main duties of the job

Successful candidates will need to be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people including care providers, local authorities, senior managers and other relevant stakeholders. The suitable person must be highly professional, approachable and committed to providing an excellent service for patients and providers. Successful candidates must be confident and competent with IT, and capable to work under pressure, deadlines and prioritise work.

Person Specification Education/ Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 or hold a recognised qualification relevant to the role
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
Experience
  • Relevant experience working in an organisation providing health, social, public or related services
  • Proven experience working within the NHS
  • Experience of a computerised Finance System
  • Accuracy in ensuring invoices checked against our database is correct and paid to providers
  • Experience in collaborating with a varied group of stakeholders
Knowledge
  • Be up to date and widely read on innovations within the health sector that improve health gain.
  • Understands the principles of financial investment to ensure sustainable development and value for money.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial data and procedures to non-financial staff
  • Extensive Knowledge of Financial Systems and Financial controls
  • Knowledge of the importance of financial coding structures to ensure that expenditure is coded to the correct place for both decision making and final account purposes
  • Knowledge of Better Practice Payment Compliance requirements

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
