NEPTS General Manager

We are looking for motivated and experienced General Manager to join the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) at Barts Health.
Our NEPTS is available for patients who cannot travel to or from our hospitals using any other method of transport because of their medical or mobility condition, or because their medical condition would otherwise worsen. All requests for patient transport are assessed on medical need. Transport is only provided for patients coming from their home addresses to North East London NHS Trust locations. Transport is also provided for patients going home from a North East London NHS Trust location to a booked address stated by the ward or clinic anywhere in the mainland UK.
Main duties of the jobThe postholder will be accountable for the operational delivery of NHS transport services across Bart's Health, ensuring high quality, flexible and responsive service delivery and to plan, develop, coordinate and evaluate the services provided. They will provide leadership, professionally and managerially, for staff employed within the NHS Patient Transport Service and have a responsibility for aspects of clinical governance compliance and assurance related to NHS Patient Transport Services; ensuring safe, efficient and cost effective use of all resources and ensuring the safety of our staff and patients.

Person Specification Qualifications- Relevant professional qualification and management expertise gained within the field or equivalent.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in transport or similar.
- Significant experience in a senior management position.
- Experience in the development and implementation of operational processes and systems.
- Managing and recruiting staff.
- Experience in using computerised systems as well as PC based facilities such as spreadsheets, databases etc.
- Good communication, negotiating and presentation skills.
- Experience of staff change management.
- Recruitment and selection of staff.
- NHS Experience.
- Extensive knowledge of regulations and CQC requirements in operating patient transport services.
- Understands the need to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
- Outstanding written and verbal skills.
- Computer skills. Ability to think strategically, plan and implement change effectively across the organisation.
- Ability to manage a large team of staff to deliver a high quality professional service.
- Ability to use a range of influencing strategies to bring about change and modernization of services.
- Ability to articulate and persuade others up, down and across NHS organisations and represent / act as an ambassador to the Trust.
- Excellent interpersonal and people management skills.
- Preparing and presenting information to senior managers within the Trust - both clinical and non-clinical.
- Professional pro-active attitude. Evidence of a commitment to personal development.
- To develop organisational culture in line with Trust Values and behaviours.
