Network Engineer

Location: Cambridge

Type: Full Time / Permanent

Salary: £25k - £29k DOE

Having experienced exceptional growth over the last 15 years, we require a driven individual to join our Service Operations Centre Networking Team.

Main Purpose of the Role

  • Support the Fixed Networks Delivery and Operational teams in delivering first class managed solutions to our clients.
  • The first-include field and in-house duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trouble shooting and support after initial triage Troubleshooting team.
  • Support Field Engineers, and other internal departments as required.
  • Configuration of equipment and design of solutions.

Technologies include WAN, LAN, Internet, WAN Optimisation, SIP Trunking, Security, WiFi. Any experience in these areas would be advantageous.

Essential Knowledge

  • WAN, LAN and security knowledge.
  • Current CCNA certification.
  • Experience with Cisco routers and switches.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • 1st/ 2nd Line support experience.
  • SIP experience.
  • Juniper experience.
  • Fortigate experience.
  • Security hardware experience (Firewall, IDS etc.).
  • WAN optimisation experience.

Skills/Knowledge/Understanding

  • Excellent listening skills and clear concise verbal and written skills.
  • Excellent customer service approach.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
