We have an exciting opportunityfor a newly qualified GP under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme(ARRS). This is a fixed-term position, offering you a fantastic developmentopportunity in a supportive environment.
We are keen to help you furtherdevelop your clinical expertise as you transition into practice as a GP withthis non-list holding position. If you are interested in this role, we areflexible with the number of sessions we offer to suit your needs.
To be eligible for this role, you must have qualified within 2 years and not had substantive employment within a GP practice.

We have aduty doctor on hand each day with no booked patients ready to help with anyqueries that may arise.
Main duties of the jobOperating from our main site in Paignton and our branch site in Torquay we care for upwards of 26,000 patients in an organised and strong team environment. This means meeting for coffee every day, enjoying our practice funded socials and being supportive to new members of our team. Our 22 GPs are currently supported by ANPs, Pharmacists, Paramedics and ARRS roles staff including Pharmacy Technicians, and Social Prescribers as well as large and experienced nursing, reception, and admin teams. We work well within the local community giving lots of opportunities for portfolio working including taking part within the Integrated care team, and any new roles that may be on the horizon! We have a good track record of welcoming trainees and newly qualified GPs into the practice. We pride ourselves on being friendly and offering support especially in those first few months of transition. We have a duty doctor on hand each day with no booked patients ready to help with any queries that may arise. Using Emis Web we run a hybrid system involving an acute, on the day triage team and a planned pre-booked team every day.

We have 2 sites, our main site is in Preston, Paignton and we have a smaller site in the harborside in Torquay. We are a training practice for not only medical students and trainee GPs but also student nurses and newly qualified pharmacists. Job responsibilitiesThe post-holder will deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Clinical Responsibilities: In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers.
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
