We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team, primarily based at Rushcliffe Aberavon Hospital with responsibilities also extending to Aberdare Hospital.

As on Occupational Therapist you would be working across both Hospital services in Wales, Aberavon Hospital and Aberdare Hospital.
Aberavon and Aberdare Hospital provides rehabilitation and recovery for people with complex, severe and enduring mental health challenges. Referrals will be accepted from medium/ low secure hospitals, PICU, acute admissions and the Criminal Justice System. Patients will be detained under the Mental Health Act 1983. Rushcliffe Aberavon is an 18 bedded locked rehabilitation unit for males between the age of 18 and 65, while Aberdare is a 10 bedded service.
The Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping our patients achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient's specific needs.
Typical tasks include:
Communicating effectively with a range of clinicians, managers, directors, associate directors, people who access services, carers/supporter/family members, stakeholders and agencies
Providing compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff including support staff and assistants
Ensuring the delivery of occupational therapy student placements
Supporting the completion of appraisals/personal development plans with junior staff
To be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols and care pathways
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
Occupational Therapy professional qualification
UK HCPC registration
Extensive and relevant post qualification clinical experience in adult mental health
Extensive experience of applying occupational frames of reference and approaches
Demonstrates evidence highly effective clinical reasoning skills
Highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models
This is a full-time role with a salary dependent on skills and experience between £35,000 and £43,000 (37.5hrs per week). If you are a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients, we would love to hear from you.
