Job Overview
The Operational Quality and H&S Manager plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality standards and robust health and safety (H&S) practices across all customer projects. Acting as the main point of contact for quality and H&S within the organization, this role involves collaborating with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to drive compliance, mitigate risks, and foster continuous improvement
Key Responsibilities Quality Management:
- Serve as the regional and/or global point of contact for project quality issues, ensuring alignment with customer and supplier contractual requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor the execution of project-specific quality plans, ensuring all deliverables meet defined standards.
- Evaluate and process site quality management data and non-quality cost management, identifying areas for improvement.
- Collect, document, and analyze project risks and opportunities, supporting decision-making with actionable insights.
- Facilitate teamwork among internal teams, customers, and suppliers to drive continuous site quality improvement.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address quality deviations.
Health & Safety (H&S) Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and monitor H&S policies and standards in compliance with local and international regulations (eg, ISO 45001).
- Conduct regular H&S audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Ensure all staff, contractors, and suppliers are trained and aligned with H&S protocols and practices.
- Lead incident investigations, including root cause analyses, and implement preventive measures.
- Promote a proactive safety culture, driving initiatives like "Safety First" programs.
Operational Quality Integration:
- Ensure seamless integration of operational quality standards with overarching project goals and customer expectations.
- Lead the application of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.
- Manage and report on KPIs related to quality and H&S performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies, customers, and suppliers to maintain compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Deliver training programs and workshops to upskill teams on quality and H&S management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Health & Safety, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in quality management and H&S roles, ideally within the telecom, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
- Certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 45001, or Green/Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of H&S regulations and standards, as well as risk management frameworks.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, Microsoft Office, and quality management software.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
