How will you make an impact?
As an Operations Engineer, you will collaborate with the R&D Software Delivery Platform team to implement cloud infrastructure solutions. Your focus will be deploying cloud solutions for customers, representing Manufacturing and Service. You will also provide training and support to field service engineers.
What will you do?
Engage with cloud solutions engineer and architect early in the Product Management Process (PMP) for new cloud Solutions and PC/server. Specific attention will be placed on design for testability, reliability, sustainability and serviceability by defining and agreeing system specifications.
Work closely with hypervisor suppliers, SLA management, License management
Evaluate existing applications and platforms, give recommendations for improving performance via gap analysis, identifying the most practical alternative solutions and assisting with modifications
Make software modules ready for production and service use; moving them according to defined procedures and detailing knowledge transfer
Develop and maintain appropriate system documentation and procedures
Validate and implement automated deployments using configuration management technology
Provide second line field support by solving hardware, application, server and network issues; Identify root causes and provide solutions for permanent fixes
Validation of cloud-based SW applications for release
How will you get there?
A degree in a technical field such as Engineering (BSc Software Engineering), or equivalent experience in engineering that demonstrates required skills.
Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience
Experience with virtualization like VMWare/KVM infrastructure
Experience with servers, networking, storage i.e HPE/DELL
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Linux server OS
Knowledge of scripting languages like bash, python, PowerShell
Experience with analyze/monitoring tools like Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana
Experience with incident management process
Experience with PC/server obsolescence management
Knowledge of Kubernetes, Dockers and Ansible is a plus
Problem solving skills and analytical in your approaches
Experience in optimizing guidelines, work instructions and procedures
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

This is a full-time position (40 hours). Working part-time is an option in case you're available for at least 32 hours.
