Oracle Fusion Release Manager
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) or Day Rate
Duration: 6-12 Months
Location: Remote working (occasional travel to Swindon may be required)
Purpose of the Role
The Oracle Fusion Release Manager will oversee all aspects of release management, ensuring that each cycle is effectively planned, managed, and executed. This role requires extensive expertise in Oracle environments, with a primary focus on Oracle Fusion, to uphold high standards and drive successful project outcomes in collaboration with the system integrator.
Key Responsibilities
Release Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute a robust release management strategy tailored to Oracle Fusion, coordinating schedules and ensuring alignment with broader business priorities.
- Plan release cycles with a focus on minimizing risk and maximizing resource efficiency across multiple teams.
Stakeholder Engagement & System Integrator Collaboration
- Act as the lead contact between internal stakeholders and the system integrator, providing Oracle-specific guidance and holding the integrator accountable to established quality benchmarks.
- Challenge the system integrator constructively, ensuring Oracle Fusion best practices are adhered to throughout the release process.
Risk Management & Issue Resolution
- Identify, document, and address potential risks within each release cycle, preparing contingencies and escalation protocols as needed.
- Resolve technical and logistical challenges, maintaining clear communication paths and quick responses to blockers.
Quality Assurance & Testing Oversight
- Establish and enforce quality criteria for Oracle Fusion releases, coordinating thorough testing and validation to ensure adherence to defined standards.
- Monitor release performance metrics, implementing corrective actions when needed to maintain release integrity.
Continuous Process Improvement
- Conduct post-release evaluations to capture insights and identify areas for improvement, driving continuous refinement of the release process.
- Document and apply learnings from each release cycle to enhance future processes and optimize release efficiency.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive release documentation, including status reports, risk assessments, and compliance records.
- Provide regular reporting to stakeholders, delivering insights on release progress, risks, and issue resolution status.
Required Skills and Experience
- Oracle Expertise
- Strong background in Oracle systems, particularly within Oracle Fusion, with deep technical knowledge and practical experience in Oracle release management.
- Proven track record of managing Oracle Fusion or equivalent ERP release cycles, demonstrating the ability to advise and guide technical and functional aspects effectively.
- Project Management & Coordination
- Excellent organizational skills, capable of coordinating complex release activities across multiple departments and timelines.
- Experience managing project deliverables and aligning cross-functional teams to meet release objectives.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, with a firm yet collaborative approach to managing expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead release discussions, present complex information clearly, and challenge assumptions when necessary.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
- Ability to proactively identify, analyze, and resolve issues related to Oracle Fusion releases.
- Skilled in data analysis and reporting, with a keen eye for improving process effectiveness.
