Job Description

Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Nottingham

Type: Small Animal

Location: Nottingham

Practice: Part of a group

Facilities: In practice, they have state-of-the-art equipment, including digital standard and dental x-ray, ultrasound, ECG, ultrasonic dental, blood pressure monitoring, suction, cautery, class 4 laser therapy, and infusion pumps. Full in-house lab with purpose-built air-conditioned premises. They have 15-minute consults with administration time built in to the schedule.

Support: Their ethos is about enjoying your job whilst delivering a high standard of care. If you are looking to be part of a happy practice that gets along well and enjoys team outings, they could be the surgery for you. They see a number of big cases each day, which form their varied and in-depth caseload. These are their main clients, and allocated time is given each day to follow up with them, report results, attend to inpatients and carry out investigative work.

Team: You would be joining a fantastic, friendly, and welcoming team of 3 Vets, 5 Nurses (3 RVN, 2 SVN), the Reception team, and the Practice Manager. The Practice Owner is 24 years qualified, providing a wealth of knowledge both medically and surgically.

Role: We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our client's thriving practice.

Hours:

  • They are happy to consider both full and part-time applicants and are flexible to support you.
  • They need somebody that can work 1:3 Saturday mornings (rota basis).
  • The practice is open Monday-Saturday, 8:30 am-6 pm (but paid until 6:30 pm!) Monday - Friday, and 8:30 am-12 pm on Saturday (but paid until 1 pm!).

Candidate:

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with experience and preferably at least 2 years post-graduation.
  • An orthopaedic specialty/bias would be a desirable advantage.
  • If you've got a specific interest in a specialism, they are happy and keen to support certificates.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Competent in small animal consulting, medicine, and surgery.
  • Provide high-quality clinical care to clients' pets, work closely with the team, and maintain excellent relationships with clients.
