Plumber

Plumber required in a long-term temporary role at HMP Warren Hill Prison. Weekdays only.

The duties for this position will consist of:

• Carrying out varied duties such as reactive repairs, small, planned projects and maintenance.
• To complete plumbing installations, testing, and commissioning in adherence with statutory regulations, industry best practice and Health and Safety procedures
• To maintain regular communications, via radio net, in accordance with LSS
• Maintain a safe and healthy working environment through regular checking and testing of heating appliances and installations in accordance with relevant legislation.
• To undertake incidental and emergency or urgent tasks and assignments as per Prison Service Specifications timescales, in a safe manner.

The prison services are looking for applications with:

Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) or NVQ level 3 in Plumbing

Or Lv2 Plumber.

To be registered with gas safely is desirable but not essential.

Two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent.

Must be familiar with and able to work for Water Supply HRES/FRM/05095 SEPTEMBER 2019

Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements

This does start as a temporary role, although you will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position and, in general, these roles tend to be long-term, given you are working with the existing maintenance team who are already based on site.
You will be working Monday to Friday 39 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday - 8am-4pm.
The hourly rate is £23.23 an hour, with an overtime rate available via umbrella. Through PAYE, it is £23.23 an hour, Premium rate.
Due to the nature of the environment, you will be asked to complete the standard Security Vetting for the establishments.
