Job Description

The PMO will be part of our dynamic Lucy Electric Energy Service's team currently delivering installation / Faults, jointing, maintenance and project services on HV and LV systems in a range of sectors to include DNO/IDNO and private networks, across the UK. As part of our team, you will support your peers in the delivery of all scheduled works, providing support and ensuring the functions of monitoring and control of project execution performance; development of project management methodologies, implementation of professional PPM tools; program and portfolio management and strategic project management. You will support and maintain our agile methodologies, resolving scheduling clashes or queries and support open and free flowing communications.

Business Overview:

Lucy Electric is an international leader in intelligent secondary power distribution products and solutions, with features such as remote operation and monitoring. Linking energy generation to consumption, the business specialises in high-performance medium and low-voltage switchgear for utility, industrial and commercial applications.

Job Context:

The role holder will be able to evidence strong project management and PMO skills, supported by wide ranging business, financial, commercial, operations and technical knowledge. This individual needs to have broad experience in managing multi-functional and matrix relationships required to operate efficiently across Lucy Electric. The individual will have a willingness to travel to other Lucy sites or customers, as required. They will have a strong background in PMO activities, and team leadership.

Job Dimensions:

The role will be based in Thame, Oxfordshire, at Lucy Electric's manufacturing plant and office, with hybrid working option available. The role will require some travel around the UK, when required. The role has line management accountability for Project Managers. For smaller projects, the role is accountable for the delivery of work via project leads. The role will report directly to the Head of Energy Services.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Sets and Provides Project management office support, reporting cadence and governance for Energy Services.
  • Manage Lucy Energy Service's portfolio in line with pipeline / sales and active projects.
  • Manages project requirements, objectives, scope, plans and budgets and financial expectations.
  • Manages resource allocation and manages sourcing options with the Operations Manager.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve successful delivery of projects.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and industry partners.
  • Must oversee timely execution of projects and other projects related tasks/product launches, meeting timelines with accuracy.
  • Must be able to guide cross functional teams and ensure targets and timelines are met and manage scope changes.
  • Manage delivery of multiple projects working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manages customer feedback with project leads and Clients Ensures projects and programs are managed successfully and aligned to expected Compliance, Quality and Health and Safety Standards.
  • Responsible for assessing the costs of a project and ensuring that the costs are controlled, and projects deliver within the agreed financial tolerance.
  • Supports change management, identify risks and opportunities and introduce cost saving strategies where possible.
  • Communicates effectively with customers.
  • Ensures compliance with the contract requirements taking appropriate action to resolve conflicts to the satisfaction of all parties.
  • Manages all contracts to maximize profitability.
  • Oversees the upkeep of data on Lucy Electric systems required for institutional reporting in relation to project delivery.
  • Ensures close communication with the sales team to ensure lessons are learnt for future tenders following project completion.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Technical qualification or relevant experience in electrical power distribution or related industry - desirable.
  • Use of D365 - Desirable.
