As a Portfolio Director, you'll work with early adopters and industry leaders, influencing and creativity event strategies and fostering critical relationships that drive business growth.
The Role
Content & Product Development
- Embed yourself in your market creating deep relationships with critical stakeholders including advisory boards, speakers, sponsors and influencers.
- Establish commercially viable marketing solutions including reports, webinars and online events for additional revenue streams.
- Develop a deep understanding of the relevant marketplaces, including reading and commenting on trends, cycles and buying patterns, and be a resource for both clients and colleagues.
- Ensure 365 planning for all products and that a clear vision is in place for the direction of your events ahead of this year's iteration.
- Drive commercial research to ensure we understand the needs of our partners and to facilitate recurring revenue, portfolio spend and increasing annual average price points.
Strategic Accountability
- Champion the portfolio to drive positive PR and reputation within the internal team and be a face in the industry.
- Work as part of the portfolio leadership team to shape the short-, medium- and long-term strategy for the portfolio and individual events.
- Analyze market trends with Sales Directors to have a meaningful impact on growth strategies.
- Validate new events, generate new ideas and lead by example.
- Understand market dynamics and trends to create client and event growth plans.
- Anticipating and creating action plans for potential misses across the portfolio.
- Overall responsibility for hitting event/quarterly portfolio sales targets including MS targets.
Team Management
- Foster a culture of deep customer, market and portfolio knowledge and a client centric approach
- Train, coach and retain future direct reports demonstrating accountability and perpetuating growth from their own work.
- Responsible for hiring and training new producers and analysts for the portfolio.
- Motivate, encourage and support others whilst maintaining a disciplined working environment ensuring production cycles and KPIs are consistently met.
- Lead by example in generating topics and consistently talking to customers to drive new ideas and innovation.
- Ensure commercial due diligence is being executed to a high standard and follows the Kisaco due diligence process.
- Consistently collaborate with marketing, sales and ops functions, creating deep partnerships with wider portfolio/event teams.
- Consistently QC all portfolio output - e.g. agendas, all briefs to ensure high quality and meet Kisaco standards.

AHNTI is dedicated to meeting the essential demands of the animal health sector to facilitate the scaling and growth of companies and key stakeholders throughout their commercial journey. Our mission is to become the animal health event series globally, connecting innovation with investment and partnership opportunities.
Kisaco requires an intelligent, ambitious, and proactive portfolio director, who is looking for an opportunity to take ownership of the AHNTI flagship product and portfolio to deliver both revenue growth and a market-leading position. The Animal Health Portfolio Director will have overall responsibility for portfolio revenue across multiple events working with clients including but not limited to investment banks, pharmaceutical companies, pet care, retailers, consultants, and law firms.
Your Experience
- A curiosity and market-first approach - passionate about topics and a determination and drive to identify growth opportunities based on market knowledge.
- Proven track record of launching new events at significant revenues (£150k+)
- Proven ability to scaling large international B2B events (£1.5m+)
- You have strong working knowledge of other key Confex departments - marketing, sales, finance and operations.
- You have demonstrable success in building and developing major events.
- You have great leadership skills and enjoy managing teams and looking after people's career growth.
- You thrive on a challenge and solving problems.
- You enjoy driving change and innovation.
- Proven ability to implement event project management methodologies.
- Professional copywriting/marketing/PR skills are a must.
- Event critical path building and delivery of production guidelines, timelines and deadlines.
- A natural gravitas that can be brought to all situations internally and externally.
- A hands-on team player.
