Our profile TU Dortmund University comprises 17 departments in the natural and engineering sciences as well as the humanities and social sciences and is a dynamic university with a strong profile in research, teaching, promotion of young scientists and transfer. The Department of Physics combines excellent research in the focus areas of particle physics, condensed matter physics, atomic / molecular and optical physics and medical physics with a modern and future-oriented teaching concept. It maintains national and international networks in both research and teaching and is successful in attracting third-party funding. Profile of the professorship The research area of this professorship will be experimental particle physics with accelerators with a focus on the physics of the heaviest particles (top quark and/or Higgs boson). in research and teaching. The successful candidate is expected to participate in research networks and cooperations within and outside TU Dortmund University. In particular, the professorship will strengthen the participation of the department in the ATLAS experiment at CERN as well as the scientific cooperation with the University of Siegen and the University of Bonn. The successful candidate participates appropriately in the teaching activities of the department. Your Qualifications You have obtained a doctorate with above-average success and have acquired a post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or an equivalent qualification. You have demonstrated your research excellence in the field covered by the professorship through continuous international publications in recognized peer-reviewed journals in recent years and have experience in the acquisition of third-party funding. Your research activities align with the research area particle physics of the department and the profile of the professorship. Additionally, you have the potential for teaching excellence. Social and leadership skills and the willingness to participate in academic self-administration will complete your profile.
