Job Description
Project Manager, 6-month contract, Rate up to £450 per day

Your new company
We're pleased to be partnering with a company in the East of England who have several operational sites that are dated and nearing the end of their operational life. They are looking to bring together these sites under a new single site. Some work has been undertaken to develop the requirements for a new site, including identifying the optimum location and an initial site search. Further work is required to identify a new location and the delivery and move to a new single site.
There are some changes at the company and with the current condition of the existing sites, these are likely to result in some changes (re-organisation, re-configuration, and repairs) being required to the existing sites ahead of relocating to a new single site.
In addition to identifying and facilitating a new site, the Project Manager will also need to consider the redevelopment potential of the existing sites and put forward a strategy for disposal or redevelopment.

The role will involve working with various stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.

Your new role

  • Take responsibility for identifying and delivering a new single site.
  • Advise, assist, and enable any works to existing sites.
  • Prepare a strategy (or strategies) for the disposal or redevelopment of the existing sites.
  • Implement, oversee, and monitor a project management approach for the three elements of this project and manage the project interdependencies.
  • Manage a range of stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to deliver against key project milestones, monitor capital spend and programme, risks, and track key outcomes.
  • Proactively manage the stakeholder engagement process for each regeneration project.
  • Provide monthly progress updates to the project sponsors and wider Programme Board structure.

    Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead teams of multi-disciplinary consultants, contractors, and internal staff to ensure delivery of projects at the highest possible standards and adopt a dedicated project management approach to development.
  • Be responsible and accountable for capital budgets associated with specific projects and ensure each project has a project plan, risk register, and is reviewed regularly against agreed outcomes, including the production of monthly highlight reports.
  • Present regular updates on projects to the project sponsors and programme board as required.
  • Work with a range of developers, consultants, and key stakeholders to move forward delivery of projects, including the negotiation of land agreements and legal contracts, developing project briefs, and managing consultation and public engagement activities.
  • Collect, review, and assess lessons learned throughout the project life and at key project gateways.
  • Work with strategic partners to develop project-specific funding bids as appropriate.

What you'll need to succeed
The post holder will liaise with external contacts and organisations such as landowners, agents, developers, steering groups, local councils, enterprise agencies, and other business support services.
Education/Training:
  • Educated to degree level in a related subject or demonstration of appropriate experience gained in a similar working environment.
  • Knowledge & Experience:
  • Considerable breadth of experience and knowledge of development projects and project management processes.
  • Relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of partners, consultants, and key stakeholders.
  • Evidence of working with funders and securing funding for projects.
  • Understanding of land and property transactions, particularly those relating to the development process.

Budget management.
Experience of managing risk.

What you'll get in return
This is an initial 6-month contract with a rate of up to £450 per day Umbrella/Gross PAYE. You'll work flexibly and we expect you'll spend 1-2 days per week on site with the rest spent working from home.
