Your Role
As the Project Director for the World Pride 2030 bid, you will be at the forefront of Pride in London's most ambitious project to date. This senior leadership role is crucial in positioning London as the premier choice for hosting this globally significant LGBTQ+ event. You will drive the strategic vision, lead high-level partnerships, and oversee the entire bid process, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of Pride celebrations worldwide.
Your Responsibilities:
Work closely with the steering group to ensure the bid aligns with strategic objectives and maintains the highest standards throughout the development process
Create a comprehensive Bid Book for InterPride that effectively showcases London's vision, capabilities, and commitment to hosting World Pride 2030, ensuring compliance with all InterPride bidding requirements and guidelines
Research and document London's unique strengths, specifically highlighting:
Success in delivering Pride in London as a world-class LGBTQ+ celebration
Proven operational excellence in Pride event management and growth
Wider infrastructure capabilities and event delivery expertise
LGBTQ+ cultural significance and community legacy
Track record in delivering major international events
Develop comprehensive event delivery plans encompassing all operational aspects including event programming, venue strategies, crowd management, transportation, security, emergency response, volunteer management and technical requirements
Define and track measurable outcomes for the bid process, ensuring accountability and demonstrating impact on LGBTQ+ rights and visibility globally
Establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders to gather essential information and secure necessary commitments for the bid book
Oversee community engagement strategy including functional process to engage and bring LGBTQ+ communities with them
Develop initial budget projections and funding models to demonstrate financial viability
Create preliminary sustainability and accessibility frameworks that will strengthen London's bid position
Identify and assess potential risks and challenges, developing appropriate mitigation strategies for inclusion in the bid book
Draft detailed timeline and milestone planning for event delivery
Identify potential corporate partners and sponsorship opportunities to demonstrate financial sustainability
Compile supporting documentation including letters of support, venue commitments, and infrastructure assessments
Drive innovation throughout the bid process, incorporating cutting-edge technology and sustainability initiatives to set new standards for inclusivity and environmental responsibility
What You'll Bring to the Role:
Proven track record of leadership in large-scale, international projects or bids, with extensive experience in strategic planning and execution at a senior level
Deep understanding of global LGBTQ+ issues and the international pride movement, with exceptional cultural competence and demonstrated passion for LGBTQ+ rights
Exceptional diplomatic skills and political acumen, with proven ability to influence and negotiate with high-profile stakeholders
Visionary thinking, with the ability to translate ideas into actionable plans and inspire diverse audiences on a global scale
Strong background in large-scale fundraising and securing major international sponsorships
Innovative mindset with a commitment to integrating cutting-edge technologies and sustainability initiatives
