Who are we looking for?
We're seeking a highly experienced and motivated PMO Manager to lead the Project Management Office within our R&D organization. This is a strategic leadership role ideal for someone with deep expertise in project and portfolio management, a passion for driving process excellence, and a proven ability to lead both people and key initiatives.
You'll be responsible for defining and implementing PMO strategies, managing a portfolio of high-impact projects, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
As PMO Manager, you will oversee the strategic and operational direction of the Project Management Office within a key business unit of our R&D organization. Your team leads projects focused on intelligent technology systems, including advanced imaging and detection solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
PMO Leadership:
- Develop and implement frameworks, standards, and best practices for project governance.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the PMO, including team leadership, resource planning, performance reviews, and mentorship.
- Promote a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Portfolio Management:
- Oversee a portfolio of strategic initiatives that align with company objectives.
- Prioritize projects based on business value, resource capacity, and organizational impact.
- Monitor progress and performance at the portfolio level, identifying areas for course correction.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the PMO and senior leadership.
- Provide transparent updates on status, risks, and key decisions.
- Proactively manage stakeholder expectations and foster cross-functional collaboration.
Process & Tooling Improvement:
- Evaluate and enhance project delivery processes and tools.
- Introduce and scale methodologies or platforms that improve team efficiency.
- Ensure audit readiness and compliance with internal standards.
Project Execution:
- Define project charters, scopes, and roadmaps
- Lead cross-functional planning, risk assessment, and issue resolution
- Manage budgeting, procurement coordination, and resource alignment
- Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of major milestones and outcomes
Qualifications & Skills
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in project and/or program leadership within a corporate or technology-driven environment
- At least 3 years in a people management role
- Deep knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies
- Strong proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, MS Project, PPM systems, and Confluence
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English
- Demonstrated success in aligning strategic product and program goals
Preferred/Bonus:
- Experience in network security or cybersecurity
- Familiarity with ISO standards, regulatory frameworks, and licensing considerations
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, or CSM
- Expert-level knowledge of Atlassian tools
- Strong understanding of risk and change management practices
