The role

This dynamic role is responsible for accelerating the Director of People and Culture's strategic priorities and maximising impact across the organisation. They are skilled in agile project management and partner with the People and Culture Leadership team on strategy realisation, planning and execution, organisational structure and cadence, frameworks to operate effectively at increasing scale and complexity, as well as communication, engagement and senior stakeholder management.

Critical aspects of this role include the ability to often work through others by leading integrative problem solving, a generalist capability, coupled with a pragmatic approach.

Key responsibilities
  1. Have a thorough understanding of how the People and Culture org functions and its strategic priorities to support Google DeepMind's mission.
  2. Proactively identify and address potential roadblocks. Propose viable solutions and escalate critical issues to the Director of People and Culture as needed.
  3. Partner with People and Culture Leadership to form, drive and evolve the org's strategic direction and narrative. Work collaboratively to translate high-level strategic goals into actionable plans, from conception to delivery.
  4. Partner with People and Culture Leadership to scale the team operating models as needed.
  5. Be responsible for driving the People and Culture OKR planning process in alignment with the broader org.
  6. Oversee People and Culture Leadership communication and engagement with senior stakeholders, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and identifying synergy opportunities.
  7. Maintain flexibility to lean into priority initiatives and special projects for the Director of People and Culture and help operationalise them.
  8. Partner closely with the Administrative Business Partner to the Director of People and Culture and connect dots across the People and Culture org to make the org leader as effective as possible.
  9. Provide objective support and perspective to the Director of People and Culture, proactively seeking opportunities for operational improvement within the org. Support the development and implementation of such opportunities in partnership with the Administrative Business Partner to the Director of People and Culture.
  10. Build trust across the People and Culture org by translating information between leadership level and team level.
About you

In addition, the following would be an advantage but not essential:

  1. You have experience working in a people team.
