Social Worker - Adults with Learning Disabilities Team

3 month contract

Rhondda

up to £33.82 per hour umbrella company

We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Social Worker to join the Adults with Learning Disability Team in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan Full time hours are preferable but happy to consider applications from those offering part time hours with relevant experience. Pay rate £35 per hour via Umbrella company. This role offers hybrid working. On site prescene is based out of Hen Goleg.

The team is a county-wide Specialist Team working with adults with a learning disability who also have other complexities associated with their conditions, e.g. ASD, communication difficulties, challenging behaviour, additional physical/mental health needs. Social Workers in the team have active involvement with long-term cases. They work very closely, in a multi-disciplinary way, with members of the Specialist Learning Disability Health Teams and other professionals. They support service users living in a range of settings, e.g. in residential/Supported Living placements and those living within the community with their families. Social Workers in the team are involved in undertaking Assessments, Reviews and Care Planning and need to have the enthusiasm to play an active role in delivering a high quality service to our service users.

The post will also entail protecting service users from abuse and neglect and where intervention is required you will be expected to provide a proportionate and timely response working in partnership with the authorities Safeguarding Team.

You would be expected to work within the legislative framework (e.g. Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2015) along with demonstrating an understanding of risk management and how to work in a strength-based, outcome focused way.

You will need to hold a recognised Social Work qualification is essential and you must be registered as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales.
