Are you a Chemical Engineer, Physicist, or Materials Scientist with cleanroom experience in developing nanofabrication processes? If so, we want to hear from you! In this role, you will work in the Quantum Technology department in Delft, which is actively involved in developing scalable quantum computing, a quantum internet, and various applications in quantum technology, including quantum sensing and quantum simulation.

Your Role as a Process Engineer

As a Quantum Technology Process Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to creating robust manufacturing processes for quantum devices. Your responsibilities will include integrating nanofabrication processes in a cleanroom environment, working closely with engineers, researchers, and university staff on various projects to achieve high-quality outcomes in the fast-evolving field of quantum technology.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize nanofabrication processes, such as sputtering and etching, within a cleanroom setting.
  • Utilize monitoring techniques, including Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement scalable processes for quantum devices.
  • Analyze complex data and contribute to the iterative improvement of manufacturing protocols.
  • Share findings through presentations and discussions with team members and stakeholders.

The perfect candidate should

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry, or chemical engineering, or possess equivalent experience.
  • Have some cleanroom experience (1-3 years) in an industrial R&D or academic environment.
  • Have knowledge of nanofabrication techniques and monitoring methods (preferred).
  • Be a team player with strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
  • Reside in the Netherlands, preferably near Delft.
