Job Description
Research & Development Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an R&D Engineer to join our clients Great Yarmouth base. The successful candidate will report to the R&D Manager and join a team of established design engineers.

The applicant will need to have in-depth knowledge and experience with the design of electronic circuits and assemblies, through the whole life cycle from concept, design to manufacture.

The successful applicant will be proficient in circuit simulation and PCB design. A good working knowledge of engineering practices, specifically electrical, mechanical and software is preferred.

Main Responsibilities
  • Interpretation of job specifications and identification of problems and potential solutions.
  • Component selection, circuit simulation and PCB design.
  • Testing of components and prototypes, PCB assemblies etc.
  • Generation of build documentation and procedures.
  • Working closely with R&D engineers, to interface with other engineering disciplines.
  • Development and introduction of new technologies and advancements.
  • Ensuring high standards of product safety, functionality, reliability and useability.
Requirements of Role
  • Previous experience in electronic engineering design is essential
  • Knowledge and experience of technical product design & manufacture processes.
  • Experience of subsea/offshore electronics/design preferred but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge in electronics, with good awareness of electrical, mechanical, software/Firmware is essential.
  • Engineering qualifications to BEng level or equivalent preferred / equivalent experience essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ambitious and self-motivated.
