Overview Join Our Team as a Cardiac Cath Lab RN and Transform Lives with Us!

Are you a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with a passion for cardiac care? We are looking for an exceptional Cardiac Cath Lab RN to join our dedicated team and provide top-notch care to our patients. This is a full time position working 4-10 day shifts. On-call is required with a 30 minute response time.

About the Role:

  • Maintain patient confidentiality while working under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Utilize your excellent communication skills to relate well with people of diverse backgrounds, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrate creativity, initiative, and problem-solving abilities to ensure the highest standard of care.
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of all equipment within the department.
  • Maintain a knowledge of sterile supplies and techniques utilized for procedures in the area of responsibilities. Assist physician with scrub duties utilizing sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination, set-up trays and prepare and position patient.
  • Assist physician in circulator role by positioning the patient to obtain digital films and by giving medications/contrast (if tech/RN certified) under MD supervision in accordance with departmental policy. Assist physician in the recorder/monitor role documenting the case, balancing calibration and operating physiologic recorder and calculating and reporting patient information from data gathered in the cardiac cath lab.
  • Review patient chart for appropriate information such as indicators which may indicate risk to the patient, maintain the holding area and assist in transporting patients.
  • Provide radiation protection to patient, staff and self according to prescribed safety standards.
  • Maintain controlled drug inventory according to prescribed controlled drug policy. Assure that the crash cart and drug box are accurately supplied and dated.
  • Recognize emergency situations and can initiate code procedures or administer first aid or CPR as needed. Prepare and administer contrast media or medications under supervision of the Cardiologist.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies.
  • Actively participate in product evaluation to determine best and most cost effective product.
  • Notify coordinator when supplies are low.
  • Maintain daily work log and participate in the follow-up on patients. Rotate in an on-call status.
  • Actively participate in performance improvement process to include evaluating, reporting and follow-up recommendations.
Qualifications

A minimum of one year critical care experience preferred. One year experience in a cardiac cath laboratory preferred. Scrub experience preferred.
