Salaried GP

We arelooking for an enthusiastic GP to come and join our team at Littlewick MedicalCentre, which is a forward thinking training practice located a short drivefrom both Nottingham and Derby. We are a supportive team with a passion forteaching, innovation and excellent patient care. The successful applicant willwork 6 sessions a week, including Friday.

Main duties of the job

- Todeliver high quality medical care for both acute and chronic conditions fromour main surgery in Ilkeston and our branch surgery in West Hallam.

-Tocomplete home visits as needed.

-Toreview test results and action them appropriately.

-Tokeep accurate medical records as per GMC best practice.

-Tocomplete paperwork such as referrals, letters and reports in a timely manner.

-Totake a share of covering the duty doctor and triage roles at the practice.

-Towork effectively as part of the clinical team supporting allied healthprofessionals such as our pharmacists, ANPs, practice nurses and physios.

-Tobe involved with debriefing and supporting both the medical students and the GPregistrars.

-Tobe involved in Quality improvement work such as audits.

-Tobe committed to self-learning and continuous professional development.

-Toattend regular clinical meetings

About us

We are alarge training practice based in Ilkeston with a list of approximately 18000patients. We also have a small branch surgery in West Hallam. We have anexcellent team made up of 6 GP partners, 8 salaried GPs, ANPs, pharmacists,practice nurses and HCAs- as well as a strong admin team.

We are proudto be part of Erewash Health Partnership. This is a super partnership made up of 7 local practices in the Ilkestonand Long Eaton area. This has enabled us to develop many effective services toenhance patient care and reduce the GP work load. This includes a visitingservice, FCP, On day service which helps with our acute patient demand,pharmacists, mental health workers, Chaplains and the Frailty team. We alsowork closely with our social prescribers and care coordinators.

GPs workto 15 minute appointments. We have a home visiting service and Frailty servicewhich covers all the care home needs and the majority of our acute home visits.We are working to the recommended BMA 25 appointments a day where possible.

We put botheducation and innovation at the heart of our practice. Not only are we atraining practice for the Derby Training Scheme, but we also have medicalstudents as well as training nurses, pharmacists and other affiliatedprofessionals. We are involved in clinical research and are always keen toexplore new ways of dealing with the ever changing demands of General Practice.

Person Specification Qualifications

• GMC registered, currently on the Performers list and has MRCGP or equivalent qualifications.
• Valid driving licence
