Contract Type: Full-Time, Contract - employed via agency

About Us: We are working with a Special Educational Needs school situated in Northamptonshire. They are dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment for students aged 3-18 who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday, starting in January 2024. As a vital member of our support staff, you will contribute to the development and well-being of our students, fostering an environment where each child can thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to students with ASD and SLD.
  • Implement and adapt educational plans to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and therapists to create an inclusive and engaging learning atmosphere.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting social and emotional development.
  • Assist in the integration of students into mainstream activities, as appropriate.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to colleagues and parents.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with ASD and SLD is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in education or special needs support is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of individuals with diverse needs.
