About the role

Energia, Energia, part of Energia Group, have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer based in Dublin.

This new role will support the Senior Project Manager in the delivery of a major 220 kV GIS cable connected substation with multiple 220 / 20 kV transformers and switchgear to feed the adjacent large energy demand partner.

The project will involve working with a number of different stakeholders including EirGrid, ESB Networks, Energia s Project team, Owner s Engineer team, EPC contractors and equipment manufacturers. As this team is in growth phase, this role presents an exciting opportunity to join at the early stages of project development and plays a vital role in our contribution to the energy transition.

Your key responsibilities and accountabilities

Day-to-day, here s what your new role would look like:

• Provide Civil Engineering solutions ensuring alignment with project schedules.

• Lead and develop teams in the delivery of projects

• Contribute technical inputs from planning phase to construction completion.

• Advise on budget costs and programme durations for civil/structural elements.

• Develop, manage design changes for review and acceptance from the TSO / TAO.

• Update civil requirements/specifications for contract documents.

• Review contractor designs and quality records.

• Support, supervise and manage site work on project sites as needed.

• Develop best practice assessment tools and processes.

• Conduct design reviews of substation design submissions.

Our key criteria

These are the qualifications, experience, skills, or knowledge you must have:

• Third level qualification in Civil Engineering or similar discipline.

• Significant experience in the design or delivery of projects of similar scale and complexity.

• Proven experience in using AutoCAD / Civil 3D.

• Demonstrable experience of preparing drawings, designs and reports to project teams and management.

• Demonstrable experience of being on live construction / heavy civil engineering projects.

• Current driving license and access to a vehicle.

Our desirable criteria

These help decide between talent who meet all the essential criteria:

• Proven experience in the Renewables area / grid connection infrastructure.

• Experience in Substation Construction at 110 and 220 kV voltage levels.

• Proven experience in the development and delivery of large-scale civil engineering projects.
