Job description
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Data Scientist to lead our analytic support function for the Strategic Partnerships and Affiliates (SPA) team. In this role, you will be responsible for extracting deep, valuable insights from performance data and transforming them into actionable strategies that drive both top and bottom-line growth. You will use your creativity and commercial acumen to translate business problems into structured analytical questions and choose the most appropriate methodologies to answer these questions. Acting as a key source of truth for all data-related matters within the SPA organization, you will guide the use of analytics to shape business decisions and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Insights: Support stakeholders by analysing performance data to extract insights and provide actionable recommendations aligned with SPA and EG's strategic goals. Identify and use appropriate statistical methods and analytical techniques to answer business questions.
- Data Modelling & KPI Measurement: Apply core analytics concepts, including data modelling and KPI measurement, to evaluate and improve business performance and inform strategic initiatives.
- Self-Service Analytics: Develop and deliver self-service analytics capabilities for Sales, Account Management, Finance, and other support functions, empowering them with the data they need to make informed decisions.
- Data Stewardship: Act as the authoritative source of data management principles within the SPA organization. Shape and promote best practices for data usage and analytics across the organization.
- Stakeholder management: Influence partners, stakeholder teams, and senior leaders through communicating across various levels of the organization using clear and compelling storytelling and presentations.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar quantitative role. Experience within ecommerce or online affiliate marketing is highly desirable.
- Advanced Data Handling: Demonstrated experience in managing and analyzing large datasets with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
- SQL Proficiency: Advanced capability in writing complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data is required.
- Analytical Tools: Proficiency in using analytical tools such as Python or R is desired but not required. Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business operations and the ability to translate data insights into strategic business recommendations.
- Communication and Influencing Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $155,000 to $217,000. Employees in this role have potential to increase their pay to $248,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing performance in the role.
