Senior Finance Controller (German Speaking)

We are currently looking on behalf of one of our important clients for a Senior Finance Controller (German Speaking). This role is permanent position based in Fribourg Canton & comes with some home office allowance.

Your Role:

• Hold responsibility for the pre-consolidation of an acquired Group & actively support its integration.
• Supervise the overall monthly closing process for the three newly acquired companies.
• Oversee the financial accounting activities for all legal entities, including global intercompany accounting & consolidation activities for closing.
• Continuously drive productivity improvements & achieve operational excellence against defined benchmarks.
• Play a key role in ensuring a smooth integration alongside the Group CFO & Group Controller.
• Supervise & coach direct reports (3 accountants) & enhancing cross-training & employee development.
• Provide support for a post due diligence processes to review current financial statements & other valuation methods (eg inventory).
• Maintain & report on Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets & Cash Flow statements, with a key focus on available cash & optimization processes.
• Compile, analyze & report financial data to support strategic decision-making; performing variance analysis on Sales, Margin, Operational Costs & Overhead costs.
• Audit financial transactions & documents to ensure compliance & accuracy.
• Interact with functional areas to ensure accurate accounting & financial reporting within prescribed deadlines & communicate feedback to the Group CFO & Group Controller by detailing the key drivers leading to deviations.
• Implement ongoing process improvements throughout the month to enhance efficiency & effectiveness & to address business/operational changes.
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies & procedures & efficiently performing all assigned internal controls.

Your Skills:

• At least 6 years of relevant professional experience in Finance/Accounting/Controlling Functions.
• Strong expertise in MS Excel, including in Pivot Tables.
• Ideally experienced in industrial & international companies.

Your Profile:

• Completed University Degree in the area of Finance/Accounting or Business Management (or similar).
• Resilient, adaptable, self-motivated, solution-oriented & critical-thinking with strong communication skills.
• Flexible to travel (up to 25%).
• Fluent in English & very good German language skills (to at least B2 Level) are mandatory requirements. Any additional French language skills are considered highly advantageous.
