We are looking for a Products Actuary, who will support the iptiQ CPO and iptiQ entities in developing and maintaining pricing assumptions (in co-ordination with Swiss Re Group), costing tools/models and in assessing and validating new deals.

The Products Actuary will report to the iptiQ CPO. Depending on the experience of the applicant it will be a Vice President or Assistant Vice President position.

Please note, this position is temporary for 12 months.

About the Role

The main responsibilities (with a focus on L&H products) will include:

1. Assessment and management of referred quotations/product development by iptiQ entities
2. Review general Underwriting Standards and Market Reference Standards (prepared by iptiQ entities)
3. Maintenance of costing tools/models (in co-ordination with Group and with iptiQ entities)
4. Support capital and capacity steering to the most attractive areas, via performance monitoring of iptiQ's partnerships
5. Develop strong relationships with peers in iptiQ entities

While the focus of this role is L&H, it will also support pricing and product development of P&C products.

About the Team

Swiss Re's Division iptiQ was formed on 1 January 2021 with the goal to carry out primary Life & Health and Property & Casualty insurance activities of the Swiss Re.

Under the leadership of the iptiQ Chief Pricing Officer (iptiQ CPO), the iptiQ Products Centre helps steer capital to the most attractive areas, optimize profit margins and risk selection.

About You

You are an excellent teammate with strong communication and interpersonal skills, drive and enthusiasm, with the ability to obtain buy-in from stakeholders. You have good organizational skills, sound judgement and decision making skills and are able to present technical and actuarial topics clearly with confidence and in non-technical language.

We would like you to have:

Education
- Minimum four-year degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science or related field with proven mathematical skills and analytical ability
- (Nearly) Qualified actuary (FIA/FFA/FSA or equivalent)

Professional Experience
- Solid L&H insurance industry expertise and market knowledge, with more than 3 years of costing experience in re/insurance
- Experience in L&H retail product development and pricing
- Ideally experience in P&C pricing
