DESCRIPTION
Currently operating in: UK, US, India, Italy, Spain, and France; Amazon Shipping is a courier service that supports eCommerce businesses. SWA business proposition is to offer competitive rates and delivery speeds to shippers without compromising the customer experience.
Amazon Shipping is searching for a Senior Manager to build our First Mile performance space. This is a new space for our team, and we are looking to work with the new leader to build an industry-leading pickup service for our customers.
The Senior Manager of First Mile Performance will build our key performance indicators, ensuring they relate to the real-life pain points of our shippers. They will then work across our supply chain in a high-profile capacity, building an end-to-end governance structure.
In this role, you will need to enjoy being a self-starter who is able to self-identify complex business problems while working with stakeholders on creating a path to green. You will also be expected to communicate across all levels of leadership up to and including director level.
This role is ideally suited to a candidate who has experience in the parcel delivery industry, with a strong background in performance management.
Key job responsibilities
- Identify pain points through data which are causing our shippers to have issues with their first mile collections.
- Create and manage the plan to reduce first mile collection issues in our business, while aligning this across teams.
- Work with all businesses in the supply chain to ensure Amazon Shipping collection defects are correctly integrated into their reporting.
- Communicate defects at all levels of leadership up to and including director level.
- Build our key performance indicators alongside our data teams and ensure a high level of accuracy to the experience felt by our shippers.
- Must be comfortable escalating through data in order to deliver projects within timelines you have previously set.
- Must be self-sufficient in being able to access data through SQL.
About the team
Our team is full of self-starters who are highly engaged to fix defects in our network. We love data, and therefore everyone is encouraged to learn SQL; however, we have a lot of experience in the team that can help you on this journey!
Travel is infrequent and normally takes place once a quarter where we will meet with the wider team. You are of course welcome to travel to understand problems if this is something you identify as being required.

This role will be Monday - Friday, and typically our team works from 9AM - 5:30PM; however, we can discuss in more detail if these hours don't suit.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree qualified, or 2 years Amazon experience. (Required)
- Demonstrated experience of reducing defects at a network level. (Required)
- Experience in the parcel delivery industry (Required)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- SQL (Preferred)
- Experience managing performance within the parcel delivery industry (Preferred)
