We are recruiting for a Senior Supply Chain Security Manager to manage specified areas of Supply Chain Risk Management (Supply Chain Security Procurement Support and/or Supplier Assurance) across AWE. To support policy development and manage implementation across the procurement support and supplier assurance. To assist the Head of Supply Chain Security in ensuring that AWE manages supply chain risk within the boundaries set by the risk appetite. To provide expert advice on Supply Chain Risk management to the SCM community; senior leaders; managers and staff.

AWE s Supply Chain Security team is a multi-disciplined team working to ensure that our domestic and global supplier base operates to AWE s security standards; can demonstrate that customer data and other assets are handled securely; and that our programme risks are effectively managed.

We value diversity and are looking for risk professionals who can demonstrate an understanding of security and risk management in commercial environments, covering technical, procedural, and associated data and asset security management and governance; and an ability to work with our supplier base and internal stakeholders to enable our programmes to flourish securely.

Location - Reading area. Although there are occasional opportunities to work from home, you will be required to travel to site as per business demands. You will also be required to travel to supplier sites both domestically & internationally as required by the business.

Salary - from £61,330

Key Accountabilities:
  • Manage the provision and maintenance of Supply Chain Risk management services
  • Management of appropriate Supply Chain Security principles, policies and resources are in place to protect information.
  • Ensure that Supply Chain Security staff are appropriately skilled with development plans as necessary.
  • Enable the performance and results of the team. Make sure that team members have the capabilities to get the work done now and in the future.

  • Maintains and promotes high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight of Supply Chain Risk across AWE and the AWE Supplier Base
  • Advise executive and senior management on the response to HMG policy, international standards and accepted good practice in Supply Chain risk management.
  • Provide SME input for Supply Chain Security on the development of policies and systems.


The successful candidate would ideally possess the following experience/qualifications or be willing to work towards them:
  • Competence in Cyber/IT Security matters
  • CIISEC Certification or Equivalent - Desirable
  • CIPS Qualified - Desirable
  • Experience with Public Procurement Regulations - Desirable


All Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
