An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Social Worker to join our award-winning Adult Social Care team at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full time, permanent basis.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will take responsibility for the assessment and implementation of intensive care and treatment in the homes of people with functional mental health problems, as well as people with dementia.

The Wokingham Older Adult Mental Health Service is a multi-disciplinary team with specialist skills in caring for older people with mental health needs in the community. The service is proud to be rated "Outstanding" by CQC.

If the successful candidate is an AMHP there will be the opportunity to be approved by Wokingham and contribute to the AMHP rota and receive the AMHP allowance (£5355 - £7000 depending on experience). Additionally, if you're AMHP who has been out of practice, we may be able to support your re-approval to you get back up and running

Key Responsibilities:

  • Holding complex cases of people with enduring functional and organic mental health conditions
  • Completing care needs assessments as required under the relevant legal frameworks and clinical oversight and follow up as required
  • To monitor and supervise safeguarding investigations
  • Providing supervision to less experienced staff

Candidate Requirements:

  • Recognised professional social work qualification
  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults especially within mental health
  • Experience of managing complex cases, DoLS, court work
  • Experience of managing safeguarding investigations
