Anaplan has an opportunity for a self-motivated Senior Software Engineer to join a cross-functional engineering team in our London office who is pivotal in defining the platforms used by hundreds of software engineers.

Working in the Platform Engineering group that supports the functions of Software Development, Ops, Security, and more, you and the team will be streamlining the delivery of the Anaplan platform that helps top-flight companies around the world make better-informed plans and decisions every day. Anaplan is a business-critical, tier-one system that must be highly available with low latency despite complexity and scale.

The Environment Tooling team builds tools and services that enable our software engineers to deliver new, well-tested software to production safely, reliably, and regularly. The team's skills include cloud infrastructure, development of APIs and backend services, front-end web UIs, and automated component and integration testing. You will join a team of individuals who embrace and respect diverse perspectives, aren't afraid to push boundaries and try new ideas, and are passionate about helping our customers and each other succeed.

This role will require you to be in the London office a minimum of 2 days a week.

Your Impact:

  • Collaborate in a well-balanced full-stack team, build a platform of tools, frameworks, and best practices for our engineers.
  • Lead new projects and features, facilitate design sessions, and run customer workshops.
  • Work alongside other engineering teams to understand their processes and pain points.
  • Participate in product ownership sessions, including roadmap workshops, customer surveys, and show-and-tell demos.
  • Advocate and evangelize your team's work to the software engineers who will use it.
  • Write tests to ensure the quality of our work is good to go to production every time we build.
  • Own and operate the products and systems we build.
  • Be involved in the team's sprint planning, retrospectives, story writing, and refinement sessions.

Your Qualifications:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to craft solutions that are well-architected and easy to reason about.
  • Industry experience in Go development.
  • A strong focus on writing tests. You will have a clear view of how and why different kinds of tests should be developed and run.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and experience working in a team that builds, deploys, and operates their own services.
  • Experience developing containerized applications, preferably running atop Kubernetes, is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, ideally with experience writing technical documents such as Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and user guides.
  • A good understanding of the Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tools and languages on the job.

  • Golang.
  • Container and orchestration tools: Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Jenkins and Harness.
  • Terraform and Terraform Enterprise.
  • Grafana, Loki, and Prometheus.
  • Any others we choose to use as a team.

Bonus points for experience with:

  • Google Cloud Platform and GKE.
  • Amazon Web Services and EKS.
  • TypeScript and Vue.js.
