Why us?Bitmovin is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our StreamLab and Test Automation Infrastructure Team. We're building infrastructure for automated testing of our HTML5-based player library powering Web Apps on desktop and mobile but also SmartTVs, Set-Top Boxes or gaming consoles like XBox One. The ideal candidate will have a strong software development background and a passion for tackling complex problems in a performant and maintainable way.
This is an opportunity that offers:
- Development of high-quality, high-performance, fault-tolerant, well-tested, reusable, and scalable software and infrastructure that will be used by Bitmovin internally as well as Bitmovin's enterprise customers.
- Opportunity to work with a modern tech stack including Node.js, Typescript, Java/Spring, React, Kubernetes, Docker and GH Actions.
- Involvement in all stages of development, from product ideation through architecture and execution.

You will make an impact that matters by:
- Developing and improving our distributed automated testing framework and infrastructure to test our Player SDKs and other video-related products.
- Maintaining our farm of testing devices (PCs, smartphones, set-top boxes, streaming sticks, smart TVs, gaming consoles).
- Implementing features and bug fixes in our Products like StreamLab, Streams, and the Bitmovin Web Player.
- Driving quality by writing unit, integration, and system tests.
- Ensuring quality by leveraging peer reviews for your work and the work of others.
- Continually evaluating emerging technologies to stay ahead.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices.
- Good knowledge of React and CSS.
- Experience with MySQL and Google Datastore.
- Ability to work both independently and in cooperation with others.
- A sense of urgency and ownership over the product.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Experience with automated testing.
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes or web tech (HTML/CSS/UI libraries) or (micro) electronics/circuits.
- Experience with CI systems (GH Actions).
- Knowledge of Cypress and Go.
- Windows/Linux administration know-how.
- Experience with GCP and RabbitMQ.
- Motivation to explore automation of devices like SmartTVs, Chromecast, and gaming consoles on a hardware and software level.
