ServiceNow Developer

On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a ServiceNow Developer (Inside IR35) for a 3 Month contract based Hybrid role 2 days per week in London or any MoJ office nationally.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) priorities include improving public safety and reducing reoffending by reforming prisons, probation and youth justice, and building a justice system which makes access to justice swifter and more certain for all citizens whatever their background. Project professionals in the MoJ help to improve the government's ability to protect the public and reduce reoffending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.

Note: SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, (as a minimum you will need to eligible for SC)

Description:

.Collaborating with team members to complete outstanding backlog items on our platform

.Deliver Xanadu upgrade in collaboration with the System Administrators and Test Team

.Provide technical expertise from a ServiceNow perspective to the current ITSM transition project

To deliver these objectives, our approach will involve a thorough review of all the requests captured by the team that require development in ServiceNow to ensure viability and where applicable, implement these requests on the platform according to best practice. We will work collaboratively with the existing team to deliver the Xanadu upgrade in a timely manner, with minimal risk and ensuring thorough documentation. We will provide technical guidance in the migration from ServiceNow to the new ITSM platform within the timeframes set by the client.

The Developer is required to carry out development activities on the HMCTS ServiceNow instance. This would include enhancement and improvement of the current platform, reducing existing tech debt, assisting with fixes for incidents, preparing the platform for major upgrades, and supporting a number of integrations with other tools such as Dynatrace, Ardoq and other ITSM products, all whilst ensuring the continued stability and usability of the HMCTS instance.

The Developer will collaborate with the Tooling Architect, ITSM Product Manager, ITSM Systems Administrators, and Tooling Test team to ensure that we are meeting business requirements whilst still maintaining best practice and stability within the tool. They will be expected to actively participate in user requirement workshops, testing activities during the regular release cycles as well as providing knowledge transfer to the internal team.

Further deliverables include:

.Reviewing existing technical and process documentation and update as required

.Understanding and documenting unused platform features and module capabilities

.Configuring the platform to meet business needs

.Collaborating with team members to drive continuous improvement of our platform

.Maintain existing custom code and reduce overall technical debt of custom code by dismantling unnecessary complex customisations and enabling return to out of the box functionality
