Job Description

Our client is a leading international law firm renowned for its expertise in supporting the transport sector.

They provide a comprehensive range of wet and dry shipping and trade and commodity services for multi-national shipping clients including:

  • Shipowners
  • Charterers
  • Protection & Indemnity (P&I) clubs

Their specialist Marine team assists these clients and their insurers and reinsurers in relation to:

  • Arbitration
  • General Average
  • Ship arrest
  • Cargo claims
  • Fine art and specie
  • Jurisdictional disputes
  • Maritime casualties
  • Charterparty disputes
  • Commodity disputes
  • Marine insurance
  • Misappropriation
  • Sale of goods
  • Shipbuilding
  • Third party liability claims for personal injury and property damage
  • Yacht claims

This high quality, dedicated team are now looking for an additional Associate in the London office.

In order to be considered for this role you will have:

  • Strong academics, intellectual rigour and strong technical and research skills;
  • Trained at a rated City or regional firm, most likely one with a good reputation for Marine work (wet and/or dry experience would be of interest);
  • Most likely between 1 and 5 years' post-qualification experience in Shipping law;
  • The ability to adopt a proactive approach and take initiative;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Proven ability to manage a busy, complex case load.

Common law-qualified Lawyers with relevant experience would be very welcome; the firm is able and willing to sponsor if required.
