Site Engineer - Commercial Build - South Down

Your new company
Your new employer is a family-owned Building Contracting contractor that has been operating for over 55 years at the forefront of the construction industry at a local level. Specialising in commercial, education, leisure and construction of social and affordable homes, both in the North, and South of Ireland, they now require an experienced Site Engineer to join their team on a new commercial project based in South Down.

Your new role
As a Site Engineer, you will play a vital role in overseeing the construction of a commercial office block and warehouse premises, managing the project from inception and civils right through to completion. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting out, levelling, and surveying the site.
  • Managing and supervising site operatives and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring all work adheres to design specifications, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinating with clients, architects, and consultants to meet project requirements.
  • Preparing project documentation and providing regular progress reports.
  • Handling any on-site issues and ensuring the project stays on schedule and within budget.

  • What you'll need to succeed
    In order to be considered for the role, you will require:
  • A degree in Civil Engineering / construction engineering and management and / or multiple years' experience as a Site Engineer
  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer in commercial construction projects (those with experience in residential construction or other areas of build are still encouraged to apply)
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid CSR / CSCS card
