The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, and AWS CloudFront) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers.

Key job responsibilities

As a Solutions Architect on our team, you will provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to our customers while working with a world class sales and business development team. You will lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community. You will gain the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of enterprise architecture.

The right person will be passionate about the following:

1. Helping our customers to design and create cloud computing architectures
2. Deep-dive technical discussions around design and an intellectual curiosity to always keep your technical skills current while maintaining a pulse on industry trends.

With experience in the following key areas:

1. Technical presentation experience - White board, small and large group presentations
2. Technical - Web Services development/deployment experience, cloud computing
3. Operational - Web site/services operations, management, and security
4. Ability to travel 25-30%

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).

- Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures

- Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries

- Experience with AWS technologies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

- Experience in technology/software sales, pre-sales, or consulting
