The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect team partners with customers to design and build some of the most scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures and solutions. AWS Solutions Architects collaborate with AWS Sales and other AWS teams to help address customer business challenges and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.

As a trusted customer advocate, Solutions Architects help organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions and provide advice on strategies for migrating existing workloads to the cloud. You'll help drive successful business outcomes across a broad set of enterprise customers through your passion for educating, training, designing, and building cloud solutions.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest-growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including the public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success.

Key job responsibilities

1. Act as a strategic technical leader in the field to provide architectural guidance and recommendations necessary to promote & accelerate customer adoption of AWS.
2. Ensure customer & partner success in designing, building, and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
3. Lead architectural discussions and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS while ensuring solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
4. Be an AWS evangelist; educate customers & partners of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS.
5. Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers & partners to enable them to be cloud advocates.
6. Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community.
7. Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white papers, blogs, and proof of concepts.
8. In partnership with the sales & partner team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS & its partner solutions.
9. Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS.
10. Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support.

As a Solution Architect, you will go beyond the technical solution architecture and work with the account teams, specialists, and partners to deliver a practical solution that will accelerate the customer's business outcome. You will also contribute to uplifting your knowledge through the broad catalogue of accreditation and education opportunities that AWS offers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 4+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience
• 4+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
• Cloud Technology Certification (such as Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional, or Cloud DevOps Engineering)
• Knowledge of cloud architecture

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
• Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
• Experience working within Generative AI models, RAG, and Fine Tuning
