Job Description

This exciting role is based at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, based in the heart of London's financial district near St Paul's Cathedral. St Bartholomew's is renowned nationally and internationally for excellence in diagnosis, treatment and research of patients.

The Radiopharmacy Department at Barts Health is undergoing an exciting and innovative phase of exponential expansion. The Radiopharmacy department forms part of the Imaging department which relies on close working relationships between a number of different staff groups including scientists, pharmacy technicians, imaging technologists, physicists and clinicians.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technician or scientist with experience in radiopharmaceutical or aseptic production to further develop their career in a world leading center. The successful applicant will be actively involved in Radiopharmacy Production providing high quality, safe, efficient radiopharmaceuticals manufacturing and maintaining the supply chain to customers.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated specialist technician, who is able to work effectively in a team delivering safe and effective service to customers, in line with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and other relevant regulations. Main duties of the job

To work as a member of the Radiopharmacy Technical services team providing an efficient, effective and safe aseptic radiopharmaceutical production service to Bart's Health Nuclear Medicine Department and other specified service users.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services.
  • Science Manufacutirng Technician
  • Diploma in Nuclear Medicine
  • Scientific Degree (or equivalent)
  • Registration with General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Pre and in process checking (PIPC/ACPT.
  • ILM L3 in Leadership and management or equivalent qualification in management.
Experience
  • Experience in a GMP / aseptic supervisory or training role.
  • Relevant experience within a GMP / aseptic facility or work as a pharmacy technician
  • Relevant experience working in a Radiopharmacy (involving the handling of radioactive materials).
  • Experience with radiation manufacturing
  • Previous managerial experience/experience of management of junior staff
  • Experience in Quality Management Systems / Pharmacy Quality Systems.
  • Experience of using radiopharmacy management software
  • Experience of using Q Pulse
Skills
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently.
  • Ability to work as part of a small team
  • Ability to prioritise own work.
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Interest and aptitude for technical processes
  • Demonstrates the ability to complete documentation accurately with attention to detail.

  • ICT literate and able to use Microsoft office e.g., Microsoft Excel and word
