As a Surgical First Assistant, you'll be responsible for:

- Delivering safe, quality care during the perioperative phase.
- Assisting in the management and organisation of care within the Operating Department.
- Supporting patient care delivery.
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
- Developing and enhancing skills and knowledge for yourself and others.
- Applying and promoting best evidence-based practices.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Maintaining Health and Safety standards.
- Preparing and assembling surgical equipment for various procedures.

The ideal candidate for the Surgical First Assistant role should have:

- Registered Practitioner status with NMC or HCPC registration.
- ILS certification.
- Mentorship qualification.
- Maths and English GCSEs at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
- Proficiency in PC use, including software and systems.
- Experience in customer care, especially in challenging situations.
- Previous experience in an acute healthcare environment.
- Surgical First Assistant Certificate.
