The Opportunity

You'll be the Technical Lead for our Reward Platform, an eCommerce product within the Redemption Club. The Redemption Club is responsible for providing redemption selling platform and customer journeys across all channels - web, mobile, contact centre, instore and beyond, covering both flight and ancillaries.

You will be leading a team of developers to define the technical vision and strategy for the product in collaboration with the Club Architect and the Product Owner.

While being activity involved in identifying and improvising the architecture of the platform to improve platform performance in conjunction with the Club Architect.

The role is truly collaborative, working with diverse developer community and key stakeholders to understand the roadmap of the platform, enhancements, and requirements to deliver a business-critical product and drive continuous improvement in all key areas.

What You'll Get Up To

Guiding our developers in shaping the product's technical vision and strategy in collaboration with our Club Architect and Product Owner. Alongside this, you'll actively work on improving the platform's architecture for better performance, while ensuring our infrastructure supports your code in a production environment.

Your role extends to collaborating with various teams to deliver a robust, scalable product that meets our business needs and is well-supported in production. You'll provide essential technical leadership and guidance, particularly in front-end and microservices, mentor junior team members, and ensure successful execution of our product roadmap.

In addition to this, you'll oversee the API design and review process and continuously improve our platform's observability to identify and address anomalies effectively. Your commitment to maintaining coding standards and exploring new technologies will enhance our product's capabilities and performance.

Your leadership and mentoring will foster a collaborative work environment and ensure your team remains up to date with industry trends. Your contribution will be invaluable to our team and the success of our product.

What We Need From You

  • Ecommerce Expertise: You have a proven track record of building and maintaining Ecommerce applications using cutting-edge technologies such as React, TypeScript, NodeJS, and microservices. Experience with Java and JavaScript is a plus.

  • AWS Mastery: You're well-versed in the AWS ecosystem, including API Gateway, Redis, and ECS.

  • Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools, particularly Terraform, is highly desirable. CloudFormation experience is a bonus.

  • Container Wizardry: You're experienced in container technologies like Docker and can navigate container orchestration systems, such as ECS.

  • Version Control: You're no stranger to version control software, with a preference for BitBucket.

  • CI/CD and DevOps: Your experience in continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), and DevOps practices sets you apart as a candidate.

  • API Guru: Designing and maintaining REST or GraphQL APIs and integrating them with external APIs is second nature to you.

  • Team Collaboration: You're skilled in using collaboration tools like JIRA, Confluence, Mural and Slack, fostering efficient teamwork and project coordination.

  • Adaptability & Communication: Ability to thrive in ambiguous and changing environments, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills are a must.

  • Documentation Expert: You excel in generating high-quality technical documentation, ensuring that knowledge is shared effectively across the team.

  • Analytical Mindset: Your strong analytical skills enable you to troubleshoot and solve complex data problems efficiently.

The role has a blended base, between our Central London office and home. We trust you to make the right decision about the type of work that is best done in each location. We expect you'll achieve a 50/50 split between the two and there may be times where you'll want to visit our other locations to tell their stories, too (fully reimbursed).
