About the team
In Finance Tech we have goals to streamline financial operations through automation, integration and ensure we have robust security and compliance to protect our financial data. As part of our team, you would be working with a cross-functional team that is responsible for software development with 3rd parties, maintaining, and optimising cloud-based SaaS applications that help drive the financial operations of Sainsbury's. Additionally, you would work with the Product team to support the Finance Transformation stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our financial operations.
What you'll do
You will play a central role in the critical transformation of technology delivery, working closely with internal and external teams in a matrix organisation to achieve Sainsbury's business strategy. With a focus on delivering services that meet customer and colleague requirements, you will contribute to the service strategies for respective products/functional areas, ensuring alignment with the Sainsbury's Tech operating framework and technology principles. Your responsibilities include driving a culture of personal accountability and ownership, coaching others to understand technical approaches, building collaborative relationships with stakeholders, managing budgets and finances for change and run activities, ensuring technical assurance and delivery, as well as overseeing service and risk management activities to ensure high-quality service provision and continuous improvement. By utilising your strong leadership skills and technical expertise, you will drive innovation, manage third-party suppliers, and navigate the complex landscape of technology to deliver valuable outcomes for the organisation and its customers.
Who you are
As a Technology Manager for Sainsbury's Tech, you are a highly experienced professional with a proven track record in leading and transforming Technology delivery. With your extensive knowledge of large-scale third-party technology suppliers and product portfolios, product and vendor selection procedures, Agile and waterfall delivery practices, and service management frameworks, including ITIL, you play a critical role in assuring the technology service and delivery provision for your tower. Your strong leadership skills, coupled with your ability to build collaborative relationships and drive a culture of personal accountability, enable you to effectively lead and coach internal and external engineering teams to deliver changes and enhancements to products at pace. You demonstrate a deep understanding of technology concepts and possess excellent commercial acumen, allowing you to drive continuous improvement and ensure the delivery of fit-for-purpose, innovative infrastructure and applications. Your strong communication and influencing skills, along with your ability to navigate ambiguity and make informed decisions, contribute to the overall success of Sainsbury's Tech and the achievement of the business strategy.
