Therapy Assistant

OFG will support therapy assistants to embark onthe SaLT/OT apprenticeship after the successful completion of yourprobationary period. Travel to and from university and anyplacements is covered by OFG and you will be supported to meet youruniversity requirements while in post.

Salary: £24,375 FTE (dependent onexperience)
Hours: 37.5 hours perweek
Contract: Permanent - Term Time only
About The Role
Youwill be joining a dedicated team of professionals to support ourchildren and young people within our Ryecroft School based in theWest Midlands.
You will be working closely withour education teams who support our young people, as well as theirfamilies. You will be responsible for providing evidence-basedassessments and interventions under the supervision of a qualifiedclinician, to better understand and support our young people'sneeds and to support them to engage in meaningful activities andinteractions. You will be instrumental in creating communicationprofiles, contributing to placement plans and delivering a range ofinterventions. This role also includes observations in schoolsettings, co-facilitating staff training, attending multi-agencymeetings and on-going service development. There are also regularopportunities for continual professional development, through ourinternal specialist forums and funding for external trainingopportunities.
Who we are lookingfor.
We are looking for a TherapiesAssistant who has experience of working with people with specialeducational needs. We are looking for someone who is independentlymotivated whilst working under the supervision of a qualifiedclinician. Someone who enjoys working creatively to develop bespokeinterventions to meet the specific needs of our most complex pupilsand has a dynamic approach to problem solving will be perfect forthis role.

Essential Criteria:
5 x GCSE's Grade C or above, includingEnglish
Undergraduatedegree, preferable
Experience working as a therapy assistant or ina similar role would be advantageous
Experience of working within an educationalsetting would be advantageous
Skilled in working as part of ateam
Knowledge andunderstanding of working with children and young people withSEN
Ability to carry outboth 1:1 and group sessions under supervision
Ability to communicate effectively, both writtenand verbal, complex, technical and clinically sensitive informationto the specific client group, their carers and families and a widerange of professionals outside the service
Excellent organisational skills and experiencecompleting administration tasks for a team would beadvantageous
